We open on people viewing Friedrich’s Northern Landscape, Spring on the wall

The figures subtly animate and come to life, the dialogue volume increases, and the painting animation dissolves into a live action contemporary landscape

The dialogue continues, volume decreasing as the camera slowly reverses its zoom and the figures begin to walk

Camera moves toward the painting, slowly zooming in on the two distant figures

Now standing on the Bonneville Salt Flats, the figures are unexpectedly holding a satellite GPS phone

The live action scene fades back into the painting, but with the painted figures animated and continuing to walk as the dialogue fades

The zoom continues, closing in on the two small figures as we hear faint dialogue* getting louder
*sample dialogue at bottom of page

Reverse angle, facing the two men as they study the GPS service and pick a direction

The reverse zoom continues until we are back in the gallery with the painting, but the painting is now still again, subtly altered to show the two figures repositioned.

Sample dialogue:

“...this is Bodnick’s graphene hybrid recurve hiking staff. Demo model, way cutting edge.”

“Substantial, for real.  Did they sponsor you?”

“Not yet, but your boy’s on the radar.”

“Bro, check my hand-carved mountain ash walking spear— it’s upgraded with a bison horn grip and spring-loaded titanium cleat!”

“That’s tight! You probably need that.”

“C’mon man, you know I don’t even need a staff to out-walk you any day!”

“Yeah right, as if... hey where are we anyways?”

“I’m not sure, let me peep the Garmin, see what our 20 is…”

“Looks like we need to go this way…”
